Splurge vs. Save: Coachella Brunch Inspired Edition

Apr 14, 2016

Why hello there old friend, long time no share. Let me tell you, when you work a full time job, go to grad school, and workout with a personal trainer three nights a week, AND its crappy weather out: that is no bueno for blogging.

Lucky are those bloggers that don't have a actual in-office job that can photograph three outfit changes a day or travel the world for their husbands jobs and take fab pictures, but guess what people, as the Campbell's commercial says, this is real, real life (in Cleveland for me at least).

The good news however is now that the semester is winding down, the weather is getting warmer and it isn't pitch black out at 7 pm, that means I can start doing photo shoots again! yay! I have a very exciting but busy summer ahead with a lot of weddings, showers, parties, and even a blogger's fashion meet and greet, which I'm pretty pumped for so that means lots a great outfits. In the meantime, Coachella starts today and even though it may get a bad rap on social media as rich LA girls pretending to be desert nymphs for a weekend, my inner hippie loves Coachella (even though now that I think about it I really do hate the heat. and dusty wind. and crowds of annoying people). Even though it isn't practical to wear a white dress in the muddy/dusty desert, here is a look that be worn to those exclusive Coachella parties in a plush carpeted cabana, or at least, out to brunch here at home.  XO.

Weekly Wants: Polished Texture & Cheeky Extras

Oct 7, 2015

So does anyone else watch House of DVF on E!? I love it, and I am currently obsessing over her Secret Agent bag and Leopard Wrap Coat. Oh and I neeeeed a wrap dress pronto.

Moving on, I love a classic silhouette that's given a refresher such as the fringe sweater, the voluminous yet sexy blouson bodysuit, and a bag where the front clutch detaches and can be switched out with another! Genius. And all in time for a new season. Of course, lets not forget a sassy graphic tee to get in the holiday spirit! And boots in a chic animal print are my next-to-purchase outfit maker!

Look for Less: Fall Designer 2015

Aug 26, 2015

After perusing the September issues for hours marking with little post-its certain pages for my Fall Trend Guide (soon to be posted), I couldn't get certain looks and pieces out of my mind. That's what I do though, I obsess, and obsess some more until I buy it. This really is a problem lol. So I made it my mission to find some inspired looks from a couple of my favorite Fall 2015 Ready To Wear runway shows. Here is what I am loving now:

Every blogger on the earth owns a Celine, and just about a Chloe too. I love both shapes of these bags, especially the lighter saddlebag for fall (the equestrian look is always fall approved). My love of lace-ups cycles seamlessly into a new season with a chic, grown-up Maryjane, laced to perfection.

Style.com is my first stop when browsing the runway collections, and even though I loved too many, here are a couple of my ultimate favorite shows. Dolce & Gabbana is just always so good nailing down the feminine lady in sumptuous lace and details. When I saw this Topshop dress, the D&G show was running like a movie projector through my mind, and it was love at first sight. Chloe is the cool girl/slightly bohemian mixture of feminine tailoring and tomboy flair. Their signature piece this year added to coats, vests and floaty dresses is the skinny neck tie, which I found an outfit completely inspired by the runway for next to nothing. Finally, the luxurious gowns that are Valentino. Leave it up to Valentino to always produce a show-stopping embroidered gown made with mixed fabrics, and always a demure, almost medieval cut. This Nasty Gal dress is the modern party equivalent to the splendor on the left. A lot less serious, same amount of glam.

Thanks for reading, as always.
