One dress, Two Ways

Nov 9, 2016

Another easy, fool-proof way to style a midi with black accessories for a chic look. From the last post I simply removed the vest, switched out my accessories and I have another look. I could also have paired this with a fitted, black moto-jacket for colder temps. The possibilities are endless, and yes, short girls can wear midi's!

The two things to keep in mind when styling a midi so you don't get swallowed up is what your layering on top (it's all about length and proportion) and what shoes you are pairing with it. Avoid clunky boots that cut you off at the ankle making your legs look stumpy. Instead, go for a fitted bootie like above, heels, platforms or even flats.

Fall-ing for Autumn Neutrals

Nov 7, 2016

Dress: Bloom Boutique / Vest: Old Navy / Booties: Joe's Jeans / Hat: Nordstrom / Bag: Kate Spade

How beautiful is this school campus?! I felt like I was in the south with the big, brick buildings and tree-lined walkway's. It was the perfect backdrop for a fall, neutral look featuring a midi-dress and simply chic accessories. This dress is a light olive green color with mock-neck and open back in a stretch knit that made it perfect for twirling in the leaves! On Wednesday I'll share how I switched up my accessories for a second look.

Springtime Layers

Apr 26, 2016

Hat: Nordstrom // Cardigan: Target // Dress: Denim & Supply by Ralph Lauren // Lace bralette: Free People // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Booties: Lulu's

As soon as I saw this dress hanging in the store, I had to have it. It is the cutest little mini with so many details: pleated darts on the bust, cut-outs in the back, a nipped-in waist and a pretty floral pattern.
This spring and summer I want nothing but chic and polished pieces that I can mix and match together. I definitely got a folksy-boho vibe with look!

What I Wore Weekend Edition

Jul 27, 2015

It was another beautiful weekend here in Cleveland filled with farmers markets, birthday dinners (my brother) shopping at local boutiques and a pool day. It was pretty hot all weekend, so easy breezy dresses are the only option for me. I tend to be drawn to white dresses during the summer which can be maximized by switching out accessories. My favorite shoe to wear with short summer dresses are gladiator or lace-up sandals, which take a little girly-ness out and add a cool relaxed vibe.  If you were to flip through the pieces in my closet, it would be pretty evident that my summer look is bohemian, hippie, global, gypsy inspired. For instance, I topped my floral Free People slip dress with a global beaded vest to add a little edge along with black lace-up gladiators. My breezy Gap shirtdress is a pretty classic style, so I added cognac accessories for a chic laid back look. This shirtdress is a closet staple; it's fully lined but still light and airy. I chose to roll the sleeves up and open up the front placket so it doesn't look nurse-maid like. And the best part, it has pockets! Classic summer casual dress for sure. I also love this dress with wedges and an obi belt to dress it up a little, and flats and a blazer for a preppy look. The possibilities are endless!
