Casual Friday Cute

Jun 15, 2018

Jacket: American Eagle / Top: Express / Jeans: NYDJ / Shoes: Target / Bag: Nordstrom

I'm lucky enough to work in a law office that is super casual since business pants and blouses are so not me. When I wear jeans, I like to pair a cute top with either a sweater or a jacket, and this spring/summer I'm all about a soft jacket. This particular one, I wear with so many things and it always looks good because of the fitted, tailored shape. This jacket is pretty old from American Eagle, so when I see pieces like this, I make sure to scoop them up!

Top: Target ( A New Day) / Jacket: H&M (kids dept) / Denim: Articles of Society (Nordstrom) / Shoes: Jessica Simpson Collection / Bag: Charming Charlie / Earrings: Bauble Bar

What goes into a blog shoot you ask? Well this particular day started out cold, hence the jacket. By shoot time it was roasting, my feet were numb, I was changing outfits in my car in a busy parking lot, and my hair full on frizzed. Nevertheless, I always love doing a blog shoot.

When I saw this top in Target it was like I got the heart eyes emoji on my face. I'm so small busted that I normally shy away from any type of wrap top (even though I think they are beautiful) but as I was looking at this top, I didn't care. I was thinking about all the items in my own closet that this top would be amazing with, so apologies in advance if you see it lots! It's a flattering, not-too-low wrap, cropped, and a peplum so what's not to love?

A New Day for Fresh Fall Fashion

Sep 13, 2017

Who would've thought summer brights would be a great transition into fall?!

(All items except peasant blouse and joggers are from Target's new line, A New Day. The other two pieces are from Gap)

When I was browsing through Old Navy the other day, I was really surprised by the fall offerings. Lots of bright colors, casual pieces and chic accessories were merchandised for fall. They also had so many cute booties, denim and layering sweaters I had to redirect myself to the baby section so I wouldn't buy anything for me!

When I was doing my usual shopping at Target, I saw they had out their new line for women called  A New Day and while it was merchandised poorly, I thought the items were pretty fashionable and fresh even though a couple of them you could tell weren't the best quality (side note-my spirit color is Emerald, so I was thrilled to try on the emerald shift dress with bell sleeves, and it was pretty cute on and fit well, but even standing a little distance away you could see it was cheaper material, so I passed on it).  Anyways, I went through the section like a weirdo putting outfits together and figured I may as well share with you guys some great summer to fall transition looks for a budget price. Can I say though that I am loving all these accessories from this line, so feminine chic!

Above from left to right are 3 outfits that can I styled for a fun take on transitional dressing, and can be easily mixed and matched with other pieces. Which one would you rock? I'm loving look 3 the best!

Gold & Glam Wish List

Dec 8, 2016

Clockwise: Pillow: Nordstrom / Bowl: Francesca's / Booties: Kate Spade / Wallet: Kate Spade / Gold Throw: Target / LipSense: ME! (ask me for details) / Shawl: J.Crew / Candle: Anthropologie / Tumbler: Starbucks / Ornament: Nordstrom / Bag: Banana Republic / Jar: Francesca's / Drop Earrings: Francesca's / Agate Coasters: Bauble Bar / Bag: Sole Society

Being an adult, gifting can get harder each year especially if we buy ourselves what we want throughout the year (ahem, me) but there are always some little gems that make great gifts, like the ones I'm loving above. Something decorative for the home, something warm and cozy that makes a great accessory, or something personal like a statement earring or lipstick is always a great idea for the special lady in your life!

What's on your wish-list this year?

Transitioning a LBD for fall

Sep 9, 2016

Vest: Target / Booties: Dolce Vita / Dress: Old Navy / Necklace: Nordstrom / Earrings: Brighton /
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff / Ring: Bauble Bar

So I think my cat swiped my camera's sd card and is hoarding it wherever she hides her fortunes. Hence, the not so great quality of my pics since they were taken on the good 'ol iPhone. You know those artsy commercials from Apple with the cool music showing videos and photos taken on the iPhone that are legit amazing? Yeah I never got that memo.

I digress. Still on a kick with this vest and booties from Target, since they are literally THE perfect summer to fall transition pieces. This summer was all about the Kardashian-inspired body-con look, and this black knit version is thick enough to be rolled right into some fall layered looks. Black, nude and olive are my favorite neutrals this season. Add on jewelry and accessories with gold details, and you've got a simple yet chic look perfect for anything.

September Style Challenge: Look 1!

Sep 7, 2016

Bodysuit: Express / Skirt: Kohl's Design Nation /  Vest: Target / Booties: Dolce Vita / Earrings: Banana Republic

I've decided to take the ultimate stylist's challenge and re-work my entire wardrobe for one month of new outfits, from the pieces I already own. That's right, no shopping for one month!  This can be a good thing both for your wallet and your creativity though. The end of every summer, my fashion choices get so stale because in this 'transitional' season, it's still hot as balls in Sept in The Land.

My first outfit features an olive green sleeveless vest and neutral booties for a flirty, transitional look. I paired an older skirt with a bodysuit from earlier this summer, and some fun earrings to play off the skirt.

It's so fun "shopping" your closet, and putting things together you never thought of before! I challenge you to come up with a fab outfit made from your closet's recycled pieces, and tag me on Insta so I can see your look! Hashtag #nospendseptember : )

Make a Statement

Jun 6, 2016

So I saw a sick workout tank on Betches.com that said "my favorite workout is running my mouth" and it instantly spawned an idea to do a post on statement graphic tees. I love a good witty line, especially if my top is saying it for me. I have my own little collection of statement tees and what I like is that there are so many different choices that I can find one that reflects my mood or personality. Sorting through all of them was fun, but above are the ones I would rock with a moto- jacket and boyfriend jeans, or with my workout leggings, a cute baseball hat and my Nike's. Shop these options above!

Springtime Layers

Apr 26, 2016

Hat: Nordstrom // Cardigan: Target // Dress: Denim & Supply by Ralph Lauren // Lace bralette: Free People // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Booties: Lulu's

As soon as I saw this dress hanging in the store, I had to have it. It is the cutest little mini with so many details: pleated darts on the bust, cut-outs in the back, a nipped-in waist and a pretty floral pattern.
This spring and summer I want nothing but chic and polished pieces that I can mix and match together. I definitely got a folksy-boho vibe with look!
