Style Series Part 1: The Tailored Vest for Work

As you may have seen in my last post, I am all about the tailored vests and jackets this season. So when I saw this blush pink vest at Banana Republic, I immediately knew it would be a piece I could style many ways. I actually have three ways I am going to style this vest: work, casual and going out. I had so many outfit choices, I decided to do a three-part post to feature all my choices. For the first part, I went with business casual looks for work which I kept the same jewelry for all three looks for ease and mixed polish. Funny story, my mom took these pics for me, and there was people popping up everywhere while I am changing my outfits in the middle of a parking lot behind my car. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do right?!

Outfit 1: Inspired by clean lines, and a blush/black color palate. Dress is Old Navy.

Outfit 2: Inspired by the Fall 2015 runway pairing blush and candy apple red with black accessories to tone it down. Dress: Banana Republic.

Outfit 3: Chic, Polished and a soft mix of blush, cream and charcoal. Top: Nordstrom // Skirt: H&M // Booties: Lulu's (also yes this wrap skirt may be a little shorter for work than I would like but to be honest my booty got bigger since the last time I wore it)

Currently Craving: Vests and Drapey Jackets

I'm a sucker for jackets, not the weather related though, I'm talking about statement toppers. I have a rolling rack color coordinated just of blazers, cropped moto jackets, tailored blazers, collarless ones, embellished, you name it. I guess everyone collects something right? Well that's mine! Ok shoes too. Ok just clothes in general geesh. When I saw the fresh take on lightweight jackets this season with draped lapels, waist cinching rope and a flattering cut, I was obsessed. Add the comeback of the tailored long vest to add some layer and dressiness to an outfit, and I fell in love. Trend alert: my new favorite color combo? Blush pink and olive green.
