Red, White and Blue

Nov 16, 2015

I wanted something patriotic for today, seeing what went on over the weekend. It's a great coincidence that France's flag is blue, white and red, the opposite of ours, so in a sense, this post goes out to them.

After 9/11 my mom told me that she prayed back in the day that when she was to have kids, they would never know what war is like. At least I knew that peace she wanted for me till then. There is violence in the world everyday, some we hear about, some we don't. I try not to dwell on bad news, but for some reason I couldn't shake that sad, sad feeling this weekend of the unfortunate souls in Paris. What is the point of killing innocent people? My heart and prayers go out to them, as that is all I can do. And hopefully their nation can heal, knowing that the rest of the world stands with them, we stand together, as one.

Here's to peace someday.

Weekly Wants: Polished Texture & Cheeky Extras

Oct 7, 2015

So does anyone else watch House of DVF on E!? I love it, and I am currently obsessing over her Secret Agent bag and Leopard Wrap Coat. Oh and I neeeeed a wrap dress pronto.

Moving on, I love a classic silhouette that's given a refresher such as the fringe sweater, the voluminous yet sexy blouson bodysuit, and a bag where the front clutch detaches and can be switched out with another! Genius. And all in time for a new season. Of course, lets not forget a sassy graphic tee to get in the holiday spirit! And boots in a chic animal print are my next-to-purchase outfit maker!

Style Series Part 2: The Tailored Vest-Casual

Sep 23, 2015

Ok so these are my favorite outfits so far with this vest! I've got a 70's vibe going on, a laid- back cool look, and a feminine and flirty frock all paired beautifully with this vest. It really is worth every penny!

Vest: Banana Republic // Hat: Nordstrom // Turtleneck (perfect layering piece): Free People // High-rise flared denim (obsessed): Gap // Boots: Joes Jeans // Tote: Nordstrom

I love taking a traditionally formal piece and coming up with ways to take the dress factor down a notch. Hence like I said last week, when I saw this vest, I saw the limitless styling that came with it.

(Obviously this is a very serious outfit shoot)

I am a firm believer in wearing white after labor day (I'm a notorious rule breaker) so I thought a patriotic coffee run was perfect for labor day. And if Monday's fell on a weekend more often, I could learn to love them!
