Beauty Faves & New Loves

Dec 23, 2016

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit 2. Cover FX Matte primer 3. Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb 4. Butter London 2016 collection  5. Estee Lauder Double Wear 6. LipSense 7. NYX MicroBrow  8. Sephora Cream Pot eye shadow 9. Nars Orgasm Blush 10. Beauty Blenders 11. MAC False Lashes Mascara 12. Laura Geller baked gelato highlighter 13. T3 Trio (Nordstrom) 14. Amazon 15. Sephora Contour Matte Cream Eyeliner

Since upp-ing my beauty game with quality over quantity, I feel that over the years I have tested a lot of makeup products, and while I am always discovering new, great stuff, here are my current favorites I use daily (well, lets be real here, I don't wear makeup to sit and face a wall at work). Oh and you know that meme online about going into Sephora and coming out lost all your money? It's accurate in case you're wondering.

My newest find that I love? This Laura Geller highlighter. My hand looked like a damn unicorn the day I was testing all the highlighters, and this compressed powder was the best I found by far: not too glittery and a soft, realistic glow. Besides that, I picked up a couple of Sephora's matte eyeliner cream pencils because they are so pigmented, glide on smooth and come in so many beautiful colors. My favorite? Metallic Gold that I will line on top of my normal black liner for a festive/edgy/fun look to my brown eyes!

What are your favorites?

(Last Minute) Gift Guide: For the Stylish Home

Dec 21, 2015

When in doubt, a chic gift for the home is always something that I personally would welcome, and it is fun to give! I collected some eclectic, chic, boho and glam home accessories above that make great gifts for those who wouldn't normally buy these extras themselves. That throw from Anthropologie: saw it in person and wow, its amazing (well everything there is) and as an avid reader, a coffee table book is always a unique gift. Alice in Wonderland is my favorite children's movie/character that I can relate to, so when I saw this stylish illustrated copy, of course I had to add it!

Many online stores are offering free shipping by Christmas Eve, so for all you procrastinators, no worries, and happy shopping.

Gift Guide: For Your Man

Dec 9, 2015

You would think gifting for a guy for would be super easy, but what if he's only into hunting? sports? drinking artisanal beers? Well I think the picks above can easily be gifted to almost any guy. What guy doesn't love comfort, technology and life helping gadgets? These sweatpants are the softest, warmest ever (matching slippers too) and I love that slim, leather phone case that has slots for credit cards inside. Also, my guy loves golf, so instead of the usual monogrammed golf balls or Nike polo's a pocket book for golf and if you want to splurge, a golf glove with technology that syncs your swing to your smartphone for analyzing your swing and all that other fun stuff (because I don't know much about golf lol).

So if your man always says the I dunno" response in Eyeore's voice when you ask him what he wants this year, maybe one of these will work!

Gift Guide Series Part 3: Gifts for the Girlie Girl!

Nov 24, 2015

PS-Sorry this isn't any larger, after THREE times of re-doing it, I give up!

This might be my favorite gift guide yet! The best part is some of these pieces are on sale right now thanks to black Friday. I was going to do a separate post on all the sales to know about, but between other bloggers and emails, I figured you know.

I can't believe my favorite day is finally here, Thanksgiving! Anyone who knows me can tell you right off the bat that Amanda lives for Thanksgiving. I love the food, the ease of the day, and the stuffing myself silly. Since I still live at home (I plan on living at home until I'm married, because I'm traditional like that) I can still act like a kid during the holidays and indulge in my longtime family traditions (plus I secretly think my parents enjoy it too with me) So for Thanksgiving, I wake up and head downstairs to watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade in my jammies with coffee and cinnamon rolls. Then I get ready and head over to Anthony's family's house for their meal, then come back to my house with him where we eat again and I spend the rest of the night in a twilight zone while the guys watch fooseball. I also may or may not have taken my pants off.

The next day I start my Christmas decorating! I could never ever decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving, it just doesn't feel right, plus I like to celebrate Thanksgiving for what it is, along with enjoying the last of the fall season!

Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions you or your family does? I'd love to hear them, I'm always fascinated with how other people spend their holidays and what they eat! I know our meal hasn't changed for over 27 years now and I love it! I even had my mom make the whole she-bang for my 26th birthday and she resented me for a solid week after, but I love it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gift Guide: The Chic Hostess

Nov 18, 2015

What could be more fun than giving (and better than getting) fun and cute accessories for the kitchen? When in doubt, a little gift for the home is always a safe and loved gift. I'm definitely crushing hard on those crystal coasters, pastel ceramic whisks and cups, and a hand soap that smells like my favorite flowers!
